My name is Cade Michael. I’m a 24 year old endurance athlete living in beautiful Crested Butte, Colorado, and occasionally the hills of Fredericksburg, Texas. I am a former all-American cross country/track and field distance runner. My partner & father have always been avid cyclists, so the sport has been an important part of my life for a number of years. After completing my NCAA running eligibility, lack of demands and specificity of high performance running on a team allowed me to spend hours each day exploring this world on two wheels with the people I care most about in this world! That’s really what cycling means to me: an opportunity to explore, an avenue to connect, and a medium to express. Currently I am training to be competitive in the realm of triathlon, in addition to continuing to push my limits in cycling and running. In the 3 months since I completed my collegiate career, I have won and set the course record at the Gunnison Triathlon, placed P6 overall in the Pikes Peak Hill climb in my first ever bike race, and placed P5 overall in the Gunni Grinder 120 mile gravel race. My immediate plans are to race the PTO Dallas Open, Kerrville Triathlon Festival, Gravel Locos Pueblo, Ironman 70.3 Waco, and a handful of cross country running races/cyclocross races throughout the winter.
