Back in 2009, I moved to Colorado from Arizona. I weighed 250lbs and was doing nothing good with my life. Terrible diet, drank too much and the only place I hung out was the bar. I decided to make a change. I signed up for a 10K race. I didn't even know if I could finish this. I hated the training and diet, but I stuck with it. I started to fall in love with running! slowly I tick off many more races. 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and even my first full. This went on for a few years until I burnt myself out. I needed something more. In 2015, I stumbled across a co-worker riding his TT bike into work. I was instantly intrigued. I found myself researching bikes non stop. I dove head first and signed up for my first Olympic Triathlon. I barely trained, but finished. I was hooked. I signed up for a 70.3 a few days after my race. One race became two, two became 5, etc., etc. I decided to make endurance sports a lifestyle and no longer a goal. Racing and training have become part of my every day life. Today I sit at 185lbs. I am dedicated and passionate about this sport. I hope to share this passion with as many people as possible.
