I have always been an athlete, a competitor. As a kid, I played everything - soccer, swimming, squash, basketball, baseball, hockey. In high school, I lettered in soccer, swimming, basketball, and track. I was an all-american soccer player at the D3 collegiate level. As an adult, I've always looked for new challenges - training for two months with an aspiring pro triathlete, winning the US Amateur national soccer championship, climbing to #18 in the world in the sport of rackets, and finding a love of weightlifting I had had never as a CrossFit athlete. When looking for my next challenge, it was only logical that I went back to triathlon - everything I've pursued and conquered in my life had been about speed, power, skill. Nothing I had accomplished required the long grind of long course triathlon.
Despite all this achievement, I've managed to have a family and pride myself in the father I've become.
