I am a banker. Passionate about sports. Played soccer and tennis at school and university. On 2012 entered the cycling world. First in mountain bike with a very basic Trek bike, 6months later I participated in two Mountain bike races in Ecuador. On 2014 I moved to Colombia and entered the road bike world. Upgraded to a ultegra component Roubaix specialized. Climbed well-known epic mountains in Colombia and at the end of 2017 was able to brake the 21minute mark climbing the “Alto de Patios” 5miles at 6% average gradient. 3 years before I was climbing in 1hour!! After this great achievement and having participated in epic Gran Fondos (L’etape du tour in Medellin and Cartagena Gran Fondo), my wife motivated my to enter into the triathlon world! I broke a leg on January 2018 and after a quick recovery I was able to race my first Olympic distance triathlon. I started to swim and learn the technic and start to understand running. I always hate to run! I only enjoyed cycling! I did My first Olympic triathlon in 2h30 and felt that I was able to do more ! In June 2018 my wife and I did the Sant James path in Spain. 5 stages of 500 km from Jijon to Santiago de Compostela in July 2018 races my first half ironman in Manta, Ecuador I finished in 5h45. Was not bad but I did not have a good time running. I keep training and and January 2019 moved to Miami, Florida. On May 2019 races the Panama City, Florida half ironman in 5h25. Again suffered in the running. Knowing that my worst sport was running, started progressively to increase my weekly mileage together with the advise of a good friend of mine that is a true marathoner... was able to race my first half marathon in 1h35! Later on in December 2019 I did the Cartagena, Colombia half ironman and did in 5h01!!! Had better sensations in the running part! On February 2020 I ran my second half marathon in Miami and did it in 1h27!!! Clearly I was seeing the results of the consistency and hard work during running training! During the pandemic I have been able to keep training.. first by running around 20miles a week and around 200 miles by bike... I was going to race in the Haines city, Florida half ironman but I got cancelled. I was able to race again last weekend in the GFNY Florida. I ended 25 in my age group just 1min after the 1st rider!! Now my goal is clearly to keep training hard, in the short term race my next half ironman, qualify to the world championship and in the long ru..run my first marathon and qualify to Boston !!
I would like to become part of the Castelli family in USA considering that Castelli has been with me during almost all my cycling live! I would like to share some pictures with you !!
